“Essential Sections of Directly Pointing to the Mind-Essence by the Buddhas and Patriarchs, Transcribed by Monk Baegun” compiles essential Chan teachings of Buddhas and patriarchs through the ages. The extant fragmentary 1377 metal movable-type edition printed at Heungdeok Temple in Cheongju is an important source in the history of printing and the history of Chan Buddhist literature.
