The Record of the Mirror of Sects is a large-scale compilation of doctrinal studies. Yanshou aimed to harmonize the various schools and to encompass the major doctrinal principles of Buddhism, widely citing sutras, treatises, patriarchal sayings, and various sectarian judgments. Its content covers systems such as Chan, doctrinal teachings, Huayan, and Yogacara (Consciousness-Only), and it is an important text for studying the trend toward the synthesis of Buddhism in the Song dynasty. This volume is the Wuyingdian edition printed in the twelfth year of Yongzheng (Qing).
